SOPRO
Cura Bra Cura Té Exhibition - Ernesto Neto
Instituto Maracá took part in the installation Cura Bra Cura Té, conceived by the artist Ernesto Neto and featured in the Sopro Exhibition curated by Jochen Volz and Valéria Piccoli at Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo from April to July 2019.
The installation was set up in the Octogon of the museum’s Pina Luz unit, featuring large ludic structures built from textile materials where actions and rituals were performed in a bid to affirm the body as an indissociable element from the mind and spirituality, as the artist put it.
For this interesting experiment in bringing the indigenous universe closer to the public through art, Carlos Papá and Cristine Takuá played host to some of the installation rituals, bringing the colors, sound and power of the Guarani Mbya into this intercultural meeting spot.
